Auto Electrician/AC Mechanic
The Auto Electrician/AC Mechanic diagnoses, repairs, and maintains electrical systems and air conditioning units on fleet vehicles and equipment, ensuring reliable and safe operation in compliance with manufacturer specifications and company standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair automotive electrical faults including wiring harnesses, sensors, and control units.
- Install, service, and repair air conditioning systems on fleet vehicles and heavy equipment.
- Use diagnostic tools and electronic test equipment to identify electrical system faults.
- Perform preventive maintenance on vehicle electrical systems and AC units as per schedule.
- Repair and replace starters, alternators, batteries, and charging system components.
- Recharge, recover, and handle refrigerants in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Inspect and maintain lighting systems, gauges, cameras, and telematics equipment.
- Complete accurate job cards and service records for all electrical and AC work performed.
- Advise the supervisor on the condition of vehicle electrical and AC systems.
- Ensure all electrical and AC work complies with SHEQ standards and manufacturer specifications.
Minimum & Desired Job Requirements
- Technical diploma or vocational certificate in Automotive Electrical Engineering or AC Technology. Refrigerant handling certification preferred.
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in automotive electrical and AC systems
