Qualifications:
- Proven experience in professional culinary environments (e.g. fine dining restaurants, five star hotels, or premium hospitality groups such as Four Seasons, St. Regis or equivalent standards
- Strong knowledge of international cuisines and cooking techniques, European, Mediterranean, Asian, South American and selected African dishes.
- Ability to balance everyday meal preparation with elevated standards when required
- Culinary training or certificate preferred
- Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to work independently with strong organizational skills
- High level of discretion, professionalism and adaptability
- Strong communication skills
Job Description:
Menu Development & Meal Preparation:
- Plan and prepare daily meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and light meals) with a focus on balance, variety, and quality.
- Develop seasonal and rotating menus suitable for varied preferences, including adults and younger age groups.
- Adapt dishes to meet dietary needs while maintaining taste and presentation standards.
- Prepare both simple, everyday meals and more refined dishes when required.
- Ensure efficient preparation, including advance cooking and proper storage when required.
Culinary Expertise:
- Demonstrate proficiency across multiple cuisines including European, Mediterranean, Asian, South American (Peruvian, Brazilian, etc.), and African.
- Accommodate dietary requirements, including but not limited to gluten free, vegetarian, or low carb preferences.
- Apply nutritional awareness, including calorie conscious meal preparation when needed.
Procurement & Inventory:
- Source high quality ingredients and manage food purchasing.
- Maintain an organized inventory with a focus on freshness and seasonality.
Kitchen Operations & Hygiene:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment.
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
Presentation & Service:
- Deliver well presented meals with consistency and attention to detail.
- Support occasional elevated dining or small scale hosting when required.
Budget Management:
- Manage food related expenses responsibly and track usage where required.
Flexibility & Adaptability:
- The role requires a flexible and service oriented approach, with the ability to adjust to evolving routines and preferences.
- Prepare meals suitable for travel or quick service when required.
