QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Graduate or Formal training or apprenticeship in wood carving, fine woodworking, or joinery.
- Strong understanding of wood types, grain behavior, and carving techniques, in bespoke and decorative interior works.
- Ability to read technical drawings and work from samples or references.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Not more than 45 years old.
?EXPERTISE:
- At least 5 years of experience in wood carving for joinery, furniture, or fit-out projects.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Perform hand and machine-assisted wood carving for decorative joinery, furniture, wall panels, doors, moldings, columns, and custom fit-out elements.
- Execute carving styles such as traditional, classical, contemporary, ornamental, and relief carving as required by the project.
- Select appropriate timber types based on carving requirements, grain orientation, durability, and finish.
- Inspect wood for defects such as knots, cracks, warping, or moisture issues prior to carving.
- Use and maintain hand tools such as chisels, gouges, mallets, rasps, and knives.
- Operate relevant machinery (e.g., routers, CNC rough-cut machines, sanding tools) where applicable.
- Ensure all carving work complies with approved samples, QAQC requirements, and company workmanship standards.
- Conduct self-inspection of completed work before submitting for QAQC inspection.
- Follow all health and safety regulations within the workshop and site environments.
- Use PPE correctly while working with sharp tools and machinery.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure efficiency and safety.
