JUNIOR MECHANIC
The Junior Mechanic is responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial machinery and equipment within a fast-paced tissue paper manufacturing environment. The role focuses on ensuring minimal downtime, maintaining optimal equipment performance, and adhering to strict safety and quality standards. This is a hands-on position ideal for a technically-minded individual eager to develop expertise in heavy industrial maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance:
- Assist senior technicians in performing scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on tissue manufacturing equipment such as paper machines, converting lines (rewinders, embossers, log saws), packaging systems, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
- Perform basic corrective maintenance tasks, including disassembling machinery, replacing worn or defective parts (bearings, gears, seals, rollers, belts), and reassembling equipment.
- Conduct routine lubrication, cleaning, and inspection of mechanical components.
2. Troubleshooting & Repair:
- Under supervision, diagnose the root cause of mechanical failures and inefficiencies.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns on the production floor to help restore operations quickly and safely.
- Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers) to check parts for wear and ensure proper alignment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- A technical diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field is strongly preferred.
Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience in a mechanical maintenance role, preferably within paper manufacturing, packaging, FMCG, or a heavy industrial setting.
