FLOOR SUPERVISOR
Job Overview: The Floor Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations on the supermarket floor to ensure a smooth and positive shopping experience for all customers. This role focuses on achieving the key KPI of customer satisfaction through five operational pillars: Stock Display & Accuracy, Customer Inquiry Response, Checkout Efficiency, Shop & Staff Organisation, and Customer Service Excellence.
The Floor Supervisor provides leadership to floor staff, cashiers, category reps, security guards ensuring efficiency, organisation, and exceptional service delivery. The position requires a hands-on leader with strong attention to detail, sound decision-making, and a customer-first mindset
Key Responsibilities:
•Stock Display & Accuracy Ensure all available products are displayed, replenished, and accurately ticketed, maintaining a neat and attractive sales floor.
•Merchandising & Replenishment Coordinate with the stockroom team to replenish shelves promptly, maintain product visibility, and follow merchandising standards.
•Customer Assistance Oversee floor coverage to ensure customers receive prompt and accurate assistance, and support staff in providing product information and guidance.
•Customer Issue Resolution Handle escalated customer queries or complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring issues are resolved and documented.
•Checkout Operations Supervise cashiers to maintain efficient and accurate checkout processes, including managing staff allocation during busy periods.
•Store & Staff Organisation Conduct daily floor inspections to ensure the store is clean, well-organised, and safe for both customers and employees.
•Team Supervision & Development Lead and motivate staff through clear communication, daily briefings, and ongoing training to uphold service and performance standards.
•Customer Service Excellence Foster a friendly, helpful, and respectful environment by ensuring all staff consistently deliver outstanding service.

• Leadership & Team Management: Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and coordinate a diverse team to achieve daily operational goals.
• Customer Service Orientation: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
• Operational Awareness: Sound knowledge of supermarket floor operations, merchandising, and stock management processes.
• Problem Solving & Decision Making: Ability to assess issues quickly, make sound decisions, and implement practical solutions.
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and thoroughness in ensuring displays, pricing, and signage meet store standards.
• Time & Priority Management: Capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Certificate in Retail Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
- At least three (3) years of experience in a supervisory or team lead role within a retail or supermarket setting.
