Qualifications:BAKERY MANAGER
The Bakery Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the bakery department to ensure the consistent production of high-quality bakery products, excellent customer service, and effective team performance. This role focuses on maintaining operational efficiency, product quality, food safety, and profitability while upholding Bulkshop’s standards and values.
The Bakery Manager will lead a team of bakers, pastry chefs, and support staff, overseeing all aspects of production, inventory, merchandising, and sales to deliver a superior bakery experience to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Production Management Oversee daily bakery production schedules, ensuring consistent quality, freshness, and availability of products.
•Product Quality & Standards Maintain high product quality and presentation by monitoring recipes, baking methods, and adherence to hygiene standards.
•Inventory & Cost Control Manage inventory levels, track ingredient usage, and control waste to achieve cost efficiency and profitability.
•Team Leadership & Training Supervise and coach bakery staff, ensuring skill development, teamwork, and adherence to production timelines.
•Customer Service & Satisfaction Ensure customers receive prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable service, addressing feedback and complaints professionally.
•Health, Safety & Compliance Enforce compliance with food safety, occupational health, and hygiene regulations in all bakery operations.
•Merchandising & Display Maintain appealing product displays, accurate pricing, and promotional setups to maximize sales and attract customers.
•Planning & Reporting Prepare production forecasts, monitor performance indicators, and provide regular reports on output, quality, and sales performance.
Competencies (Knowledge/Skills/Qualification/Experience):
•Leadership & Supervision: Strong ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced production environment.
•Technical Expertise: Sound knowledge of baking, pastry, and confectionery production methods and equipment.
•Quality Control: Keen attention to detail to maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and freshness.
•Operational Management: Strong planning, organization, and problem-solving skills to meet production and sales goals.
•Customer Focus: Demonstrated ability to understand and respond to customer needs and feedback.
•Health & Safety Awareness: Familiarity with food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety practices and compliance requirements.
Experience:
Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a bakery management or supervisory role, preferably within a retail or hospitality environment.
Qualifications:
Diploma or Degree in Food Production, Culinary Arts, Bakery & Pastry, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
