FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT
The Financial Accountant will oversee the company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This role involves preparing financial reports, managing accounts, and supervising the Accounts Associate team. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Supervise and guide Accounts Associates in managing accounts payable and receivable processes.
Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately.
Monitor and analyse financial performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to support business planning
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare tax returns in a timely manner.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to management to support strategic decision-making.
Measurable Outcomes:
Timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Reduction in errors in financial records through regular reconciliation.
Improved cash flow management through efficient accounts payable and receivable processes.
Accurate and timely filing of tax returns with no penalties or fines.
Successful completion of audits with no major findings or discrepancies.
Delivery of actionable financial insights to management within agreed timelines.
Achievement of budget accuracy within a 5% variance.
Effective supervision of Accounts Associates, ensuring their tasks are completed accurately and on time.
Competencies (Knowledge/Skills/Qualification/Experience):
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SmoothPay, MYOB, SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse financial data and provide actionable insights.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in preparing and reviewing financial documents.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and collaboration.
Time Management: Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Ethical Standards: Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in financial reporting.
