Safety Officer
Key Responsibilities
The role ensures workplace safety compliance through inspections, training, and emergency
drills. Responsibilities include conducting safety orientations and refresher courses, training
employees in PPE and monitoring equipment, evaluating facilities and procedures, and
counseling staff on safe practices. The position also supports management in safety initiatives,
coordinates with employees, and stays updated on developments in safety and loss prevention
to continuously improve company policies and procedures.
Qualification:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational
- Health & Safety, Environmental Science (or equivalent
- technical experience).
- Certificate holder of NEBOSH and OSHA is required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in workplace safety,
- occupational health, or loss prevention.
- Experience in Refinery or Petrochemical Plant is a plus
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in workplace safety, risk management, or loss prevention.• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to conduct safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Skilled in developing and delivering safety training programs.
- Proficiency in incident investigation and reporting and related documentation.
- Strong communication and counseling skills to promote safe work practices among
- employees.
- Attention to detail with the ability to identify hazards and recommend corrective
- actions.
- Familiarity with safety equipment, PPE usage, and emergency response procedures.
- Certification in First Aid, Fire Safety are preferred but not required.
