HVAC Service Supervisor (Maintenance)
Job Summary:
The HVAC Service Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the preventive maintenance, repair, and emergency response for HVAC systems in industrial facilities. This position requires strong technical expertise, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to manage a team of HVAC technicians to ensure optimal system performance and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive preventive maintenance programs for all HVAC equipment, including routine inspections, filter changes, and component servicing.
- Assign, schedule, and coordinate HVAC technicians to perform maintenance and repair tasks, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery.
- Oversee the diagnosis and troubleshooting of HVAC system issues, providing technical guidance and support to the maintenance team.
- Review and approve all HVAC repair recommendations, ensuring the appropriate resolution of problems and adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed records of all HVAC maintenance activities, service history, and equipment performance data.
- Analyze HVAC system performance data to identify trends, optimize maintenance strategies, and recommend upgrades or replacements.
- Collaborate with facility managers, building owners, and other stakeholders to understand their HVAC requirements and develop tailored service plans.
- Ensure HVAC technicians are properly trained, certified, and equipped with the necessary tools and resources to perform their duties.
- Monitor and report on HVAC service quality, customer satisfaction, and key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest HVAC technologies, industry regulations, and best practices in maintenance and repair.
- Manage the HVAC maintenance budget, forecasting expenses and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance feedback to the HVAC technician team.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or technical certification in HVAC, refrigeration, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience as an HVAC Supervisor, with a strong background in preventive maintenance and repair (GCC preferred)
- Comprehensive understanding of HVAC system types, components, and control systems
- Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve complex HVAC issues
- Proficient in using specialized HVAC tools, test equipment, and data analysis software
- Strong project management and team leadership abilities to coordinate and oversee technician activities
- Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact with facility managers and building owners
- EPA Universal refrigerant handling certification, with additional manufacturer-specific certifications preferred
- Working knowledge of building automation systems and HVAC control integration is an asset
- Supervisory experience in an HVAC maintenance or service-oriented role is highly desirable
