HVAC Control Technician
Job Summary:
The HVAC Control Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC control systems in commercial and industrial facilities. This includes programing, troubleshooting, and optimizing building automation systems to ensure efficient and reliable HVAC operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and program HVAC control systems, including pneumatic, electric, and electronic controls.
- Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled inspections on HVAC control equipment to identify and address issues before they become problems.
- Troubleshoot malfunctioning HVAC control systems and components to diagnose and repair faults.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all HVAC control system work, including service records, equipment details, and configuration settings.
- Liaise with HVAC technicians, facility managers, and other stakeholders to coordinate control system upgrades, expansions, and replacements.
- Monitor HVAC control system performance and adjust optimize energy efficiency and occupant comfort.
- Respond to emergency service calls related to HVAC control system failures.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HVAC control technologies, building automation protocols, and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or technical certification in HVAC, electrical, or controls engineering
- 4+ years of experience as an HVAC control technician (GCC preferred)
- Proficient in programming and configuring HVAC control systems from leading manufacturers
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to diagnose and repair control system issues
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with HVAC staff and facility personnel
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control diagrams, and equipment manuals
