The HVAC Plant performs work in the operation, maintenance, repair, and installation of all commercial/industrial heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration assets, Automation Systems and Building Controls Systems ,The HVAC Plant Operator is also responsible for the coordination of the work-flow related to HVAC projects. 

Description of Duties and Tasks:
• Operate building automation systems and air conditioning controls, using various operator workstations, computers, digital interface units and standard HVAC tools; troubleshoot complex building automation and control systems; verify functional performance of systems provided.
• Operate computerized energy management systems by setting time schedules, heat/cool settings and pump operation to ensure that building environments remain comfortable and systems operate in a cost-efficient manner.
• Provide analytical assistance concerning mechanical systems in buildings and the Central Plant; provide recommendations on equipment/systems operation and modification for energy conservation, efficiency and reliability.
• Inspect, calibrate, monitor, repair, install, and adjust a wide range of control, sensing and actuating devices, and mechanical systems performance for proper and efficient operation including pumps, fans, valves, dampers, terminal units, heat transfer equipment, fluid flow conditions, and air and water system balance.
• Operate in a lead role to promote, build, and maintain good relations with the HVAC Technicians; provide technical training to other technicians on basic theory, proper system operations, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting techniques, typical system failures and corrections; assist fellow technicians Keep supervisor informed of Central Plant needs, systems status and actual/potential occupant problems; confer with supervisor to determine work priorities and exact specifications of work requested; estimate supplies, materials and costs of repair projects; requisition necessary materials, parts, supplies, tools and equipment; act as a central point of contact for all major projects and repairs within the HVAC team.
• Respond to emergency and routine service calls to provide restoration of mechanical systems operation and control with minimum downtime.
• Perform skilled journey-level mechanical maintenance and repair work in conjunction with the installation, inspection, troubleshooting, diagnosing, repair and alteration of air conditioners, refrigeration units, including time clocks, air circulation fans, defrost components, condensing units, evaporators and expansion valves, boilers, circulation pumps, absorption units, cooling towers and other commercial/indus¬trial HVAC equipment and systems; inspect systems and equipment; repair, install, clean and replace compressors and parts including gauges, motors, belts, filters, fuses and purge hoses and solder, rewire or modify systems as necessary; monitor and test chemical conditions in open and closed loops and cooling towers correcting improper levels.

Work Experience
Five years work experience in general building maintenance, including two years in commercial HVAC and one year HVAC Technician work experience. 
• Five years of HVAC work experience.
Diploma in mechanical Engg/Ref. & Air-conditioning.
